Farm Emergency Planning

This document contains some questions you should consider when developing your emergency plan. This is not a final version, and will change as new ideas come forward.

Your plan should change as your farm operation changes.


Background
   
  Farm owner name, address, phone, etc.
  Listing of farm assets
  List of emergencies that might impact your farm.
  Site plan - a map of your farm showing buildings, fences, roadways, water sources, etc.

How will you communicate if phones are not working?

   
Family Emergency Plan
   
  Family meeting place
  Emergency contact - out of the local area
  Plans for elderly, children, disabled, pets
  Training you have taken: CPR, First Aid
  Standby power system
  First Aid Kit
  Food Supplies
   
Farm Operations Emergency Plan
   
  Power Requirements for home and farm operation
  Livestock: water and feed requirements, evacuation plan
  Environmental hazards on farm: wastewater, manure disposal, fuel, pesticides, etc.
  Farm Records: insurance policies
